Dr Elizabeth Boot

Dr Elizabeth Boot is a highly dedicated Consultant Paediatrician specialising in Paediatric Intensive Care Medicine. Based in London, she provides expert, compassionate care to critically ill infants, children, and young people. Dr Boot is deeply committed to delivering high-quality, reassuring medical support to families during some of their most challenging moments, ensuring that her young patients receive the most advanced and precise treatments available.

With a strong focus on paediatric critical care, Dr Boot has developed significant expertise in managing complex respiratory and cardiovascular conditions. She serves as a Deputy Lead for paediatric airway services, focusing on the diagnosis and management of vascular airway pathology and the application of airway stenting in children. Her clinical interests also encompass advanced life-support techniques, including extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) for newborns and infants, the management of severe sepsis, and the treatment of acute kidney injury associated with paediatric inflammatory syndromes. Additionally, she is actively involved in paediatric critical care transport and retrieval services, helping to stabilise and safely transfer critically ill children.

Dr Boot obtained her primary medical qualification, a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), and subsequently completed rigorous specialist training in paediatrics and paediatric intensive care. She is a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) and holds Specialist Registration with the General Medical Council. Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Boot is a dedicated Educator and Lecturer, teaching on paediatric critical care programmes and contributing to the development of clinical guidelines to improve safety and outcomes for young patients across the United Kingdom.
