Mr. Mark Prempeh serves as a Consultant Spinal Surgeon at both the Mid and South Essex Hospital (Broomfield) and the East Suffolk North Essex Foundation Trust (Ipswich). His medical education began at the University of the West Indies, followed by specialised training in Trauma and Orthopaedics through the East of England Orthopaedic Training programme.
In 2015, Mr. Prempeh achieved the prestigious FRCS (Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons) in Trauma and Orthopaedics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow. He further honed his expertise in Spinal surgery through extensive fellowships at renowned centres such as Ipswich, Stoke, and Exeter. This comprehensive training paved the way for his appointment as a Consultant Spinal Surgeon in 2018.
Mr. Prempeh's areas of specialisation include minimally invasive surgery (MIS), degenerative lumbar and cervical conditions, anterior lumbar surgery, and scoliosis. In addition to his clinical practice, he contributes to medical education as an associate lecturer at ARU (Chelmsford) and AUA (Antigua). Mark explained my current medical condition very well, showing me what was wrong with the aid of my MRI scan. He was clear with my options going forward which has helped me understand my condition and what is best going forward.

Mr Prempeh put me at ease straight away with his friendly manor. He explained everything very clearly. He was thorough in his examination and I felt that my problem although minor was considered in the same way as if it had been a more serious issue. I am very happy with the appointment and the outcome.

Very pleasant and informative on his findings , gives piece of mind of his diagnosis, he’s very thorough to ensure patients had all possible solutions considered to rectify and identify any medical issues that may be causing pain and discomfort. Overall a very nice guy and is a credit to the NHS . I wish Mark a long and successful career.
