Dr Shehrzad Y Qureshi

Dr. Shehrzad Y. Qureshi is an experienced consultant psychiatrist who has significant expertise in treating both general psychiatric conditions and addiction-related disorders. He is registered with the General Medical Council as a specialist in both general psychiatry and substance misuse.

He takes a keen interest in identifying any potential co-occurring mental health issues that may have given rise to addictive behaviours, and he works with national organisations such as the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges of Scotland and the Care Quality Commission in an advisory capacity. Dr. Qureshi also possesses advanced skills in medicolegal matters, holding accreditation as an expert witness from the Law Society of Scotland.

Dr. Qureshi holds a medical degree from the University of London and has completed psychiatric training in North London and Scotland. He also holds a master's degree in alcohol and drug studies and is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

His research interests include understanding the genetic factors that may contribute to developing alcohol problems as well as investigating mindfulness as a means of preventing relapse in those with addiction problems.
