Clinical Interests:
General gastroenterology and hepatology. Diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy including gastroscopy, colonoscopy and polypectomy. Other gastroenterology diagnostics including GI radiology, breath tests, stool tests. Diagnosis and management of inflammatory bowel disease, coeliac disease, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic diarrhoea, acute and chronic liver disease, colorectal cancer screening, Barrett oesophagus, reflux disease, dyspepsia, dysphagia and gastrointestinal cancer diagnosis.
Academic Background:
Studied medicine at Jesus College, Cambridge University and then at Guys Hospital in London. Three years as a junior doctor. Eight years as a Specialist Registrar training in South Thames region including St Georges, St Thomas' Hospitals and a year on the liver unit at Kings College Hospital. Publications listed at www.DrSimonMoodie.com, research particularly on iron overload in liver disease and on coeliac disease. Awarded MD for work/thesis on coeliac disease 2003.
