She has been absolutely wonderful throughout my experience, taking the time to really listen, understand my concerns and get to the bottom of the pain I have been experiencing. I attended a consultation with Dr Goel last Saturday regarding pain that my NHS doctor had assessed as a suspected kidney stone. During the consultation, I was a little surprised that Dr Goel took calls on her personal mobile phone. I felt this was somewhat distracting during the appointment. Following an examination, Dr Goel advised that she thought the pain was more likely to be caused by a pulled muscle. I subsequently had a CT scan, and Dr Goel called me later that afternoon to inform me that the scan had confirmed a kidney stone. I appreciated Dr Goel contacting me with the results and providing follow-up advice. However, I was concerned that the initial assessment differed from my NHS doctor’s suspicion, and I would have welcomed a clearer explanation of the reasoning behind her assessment. During the follow-up call, Dr Goel advised me to drink beer to help pass the stone. I was surprised by this recommendation and would have appreciated a clearer explanation of the advice and its rationale. I am raising these concerns to provide feedback on my experience, particularly regarding the handling of personal phone calls during consultations, the explanation of clinical assessments, and the advice provided following the scan. I recognise that clinical assessments can change as further information becomes available, and I appreciate that Dr Goel followed up with me once the CT results were available. Nevertheless, I feel these aspects of the consultation warrant consideration.

We approached Dr. Goel with several concerns regarding the eGFR values and the current situation we were facing. She was extremely kind, attentive, and patient in listening to all our concerns and answering every question in detail. Understanding the urgency of the situation, she promptly arranged an ultrasound scan (USS) appointment during the same consultation and ensured it was completed without delay. We greatly appreciated her professionalism, compassion, and proactive approach, which provided us with some personal suggestions with much-needed reassurance and clarity.

Dr Goel was professional, thorough, listened to my concerns and put my mind at ease. I felt reassured that I was on the correct course of treatment & now I know how to actively maintain my health
