Dr Scott Takeda is a dedicated Consultant Cardiologist, seeing private patients at KIMS Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital with over 31 years of experience. In his current clinical practice, Dr Takeda sees patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions, including chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, dizziness or blackouts, heart murmurs, and atrial fibrillation (AF). His specialised interests further extend to heart failure and cardiac imaging, where he performs echocardiograms, stress echo, transoesophageal echo, bubble contrast echo, and cardiac CT, including calcium scoring and full CT coronary angiograms.
Dr Takeda has specialist expertise in heart failure, serving as the heart failure enhancing quality lead for Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. He pursued impactful research on valvular heart disease during his tenure as a research fellow at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, resulting in international publications.
Dr Takeda's additional areas of expertise include cardiac imaging and echocardiography, with which he played a pivotal role in developing the stress echo service at Maidstone Hospital and established CT coronary angiography at the new Tunbridge Wells Hospital. Alongside these, he has also contributed in the area of cardiac pacing, having developed the complex device service, including ICDs and biventricular pacemakers, at Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells.

I found the experience to be incredibly well explained throughout with a personal level of care and commitment that was unrivalled. He took great time and detail to explain to my husband and myself what would be happening, the aftercare required and overall what I would expect to see and feel.

Excellent service and manner

I have been seeing Dr Takeda on an annual basis for several years. This has involved several different aspects of care, all cardio related. At all times he has been attentive and calm but above all very knowledgeable and professional. Able to deliver good and not so good news in a sympathetic manner, I haven’t the slightest interest in seeing someone else for my treatment. I initially went to Dr Takeda on a friend’s recommendation and as I live a significant distance from KIMS and am self funding, I had many options elsewhere. None the less, more than happy with KIMS and Dr Takeda.

The whole experience was totally satisfactory and very professional. Got on well with Dr Takeda who answered my questions at the pre-op meeting very clearly.

It’s rare these days to meet a doctor that takes the time to listen to your concerns and explains everything in an easily understandable manner. I felt listened to and reassured. Dr Takeda is extremely thorough with an excellent and friendly patient manner.
