Dr Robin Roberts is professional in his patient interactions, always giving detailed explanations and assuring peace of mind. Patients praise his expertise in diagnosing and managing complex cardiac conditions, including successful External Counter Pulsation treatments for microvascular angina. His patient care extends to diligent long-term monitoring, emergency consultations, and proactive referrals for surgical intervention. Common themes include effective management of cardiovascular disease, successful resolution of chest pain, and the use of 24 hour blood pressure monitors.
Historically Dr Roberts saved my life when I first had to be treated by him many years ago.He has since.then been very diligent in monitoring me, providing both guidance and treatment when required.
Everything that I wrote in the earlier part of this review is relevant. I shall reproduce most of it (sans the political comment at the end and with an extra bit about Dr. Roberts' kindly giving detailed explanations of test results) here again as I am not sure why I am being asked for the same information twice. I was referred to Dr. Roberts by my psychiatrist after being diagnosed with a form of Bipolar Disorder and General Anxiety Disorder in 2022 after the COVID lockdown. I had noticed my fitness level had decreased and, more worryingly, experienced occasional pain in my heart. Dr. Roberts was fantastic. He conducted a series of tests and diagnosed me as having microvascular angina. He treated me with 50 sessions of ECP (External Counter Pulsation) which opens up the hundreds of thousands of tiny blood capillaries inside the heart. These had become constricted due inflammation of the lining (epithelium) of these capillaries due to the chronic stress and anxiety over lockdown (due to elevated levels of stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline). I couldn't believe it! Once the treatment was complete, my heart pain had disappeared and my fitness levels were back to where they were (being able to walk up steep hills with ease and do my favourite cardio exercises without any problems). Dr. Roberts is wise, caring and professional and takes the trouble to explain in detail the results of any tests he has carried out. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.
Very professional and empathetic in his approach and manner which instilled both trust and confidence. Provided sound advice without jargon in a helpful and reassuring way.
Dr Roberts identified an alternative pathway and referred me for surgery with a fabulous outcome contrary to the original plan of care which was depressingly grim. I am incredibly grateful for his committment and determined efforts on my behalf. I am now well and extremely grateful.
Quite simply the only cardiologist for me. Robin always explains everything carefully and I have never felt that there is a question that he hasn’t answered with detail and precision. I have an awful lot to thank him for.
Professional, efficient and friendly service. Would highly recommended
The moment I met Dr.Roberts I knew I was going to be ok. He sat me down, explained everything in great detail, and assured me that in time my medical condition can be managed. I have complete faith in him and would definitely recommend him.
Dr Roberts has been treating my family for years. The last consultation I had with him was just after Christmas. It was an out of hours appointment over zoom which was an emergency. He was able to diagnose me within 2 minutes and get me to the right emergency care. Throughout the process he made sure I was calm and checked up on my progress. I would highly recommend him.
Expert in refractory angina and provision of UK's only EECP service. Excellent clinician.
