I had an excellent experience with Dr Roberts, who has been my cardiologist since I first met him in 2021. From the very beginning, I was impressed by how warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming he is, which immediately put me at ease during what was a very stressful time. I was diagnosed with microvascular angina, which I suffered with for 15 years undiagnosed. I was failed by my GP and the NHS on numerous occasions. Dr Roberts acted quickly to ensure I received the care I needed. He arranged for me to begin ECP (External counterpulsation treatment) straight away, and I truly felt that I was in safe and capable hands throughout the entire process. What stands out most about Dr Roberts is his ability to combine deep medical expertise with real compassion. He takes the time to explain everything clearly, answers questions patiently, and never makes you feel rushed. His reassuring manner made a difficult diagnosis much easier to cope with. The overall care I received has been outstanding, and I feel very grateful to be under his guidance. I would highly recommend Dr Roberts to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, attentive, and caring cardiologist.

Everything that I wrote in the earlier part of this review is relevant. I shall reproduce most of it (sans the political comment at the end and with an extra bit about Dr. Roberts' kindly giving detailed explanations of test results) here again as I am not sure why I am being asked for the same information twice. I was referred to Dr. Roberts by my psychiatrist after being diagnosed with a form of Bipolar Disorder and General Anxiety Disorder in 2022 after the COVID lockdown. I had noticed my fitness level had decreased and, more worryingly, experienced occasional pain in my heart. Dr. Roberts was fantastic. He conducted a series of tests and diagnosed me as having microvascular angina. He treated me with 50 sessions of ECP (External Counter Pulsation) which opens up the hundreds of thousands of tiny blood capillaries inside the heart. These had become constricted due inflammation of the lining (epithelium) of these capillaries due to the chronic stress and anxiety over lockdown (due to elevated levels of stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline). I couldn't believe it! Once the treatment was complete, my heart pain had disappeared and my fitness levels were back to where they were (being able to walk up steep hills with ease and do my favourite cardio exercises without any problems). Dr. Roberts is wise, caring and professional and takes the trouble to explain in detail the results of any tests he has carried out. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

Dr Roberts identified an alternative pathway and referred me for surgery with a fabulous outcome contrary to the original plan of care which was depressingly grim. I am incredibly grateful for his committment and determined efforts on my behalf. I am now well and extremely grateful.

Quite simply the only cardiologist for me. Robin always explains everything carefully and I have never felt that there is a question that he hasn’t answered with detail and precision. I have an awful lot to thank him for.
