Dr Rita Mirachian

Dr Rita Mirakian is a leading Consultant in Allergy and Immunology, with decades of experience in diagnosing and managing complex allergic and immunological conditions. Based in both London and Cambridge, she holds clinical appointments at the London Allergy Clinic and Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, where she specialises in drug allergies, allergic rhinitis, and allergen-specific desensitisation therapy.

Dr Mirakian trained in immunology at the Middlesex Hospital and was formally accredited in the specialty in 1997. Her work reflects a deep commitment to evidence-based care in both allergy and clinical immunology. She has played a key role in shaping national standards for allergy management and was among the early members of the Standards of Care Committee for the British Society for Allergy and Clinical Immunology (BSACI).

She earned her medical degree from the Università di Padova in 1972 (State DMS) and has since contributed significantly to both clinical practice and academic teaching. Dr Mirakian is actively involved in postgraduate education and regularly teaches at Imperial College London.

Her clinical and research interests are underpinned by a strong foundation in immunopathology, and she continues to contribute to national guidelines and best-practice protocols in allergy and immunology.
