I recently had cataract surgery performed by Dr Agarwal. The procedure was remarkably quick and pain free. I was discharged after only a couple of hours and recovery has been uneventful.

The consultation was comprehensive and led to a procedure the same day. Much appreciated. Location and other staff involved were supportive and responsive.

Following a routine eye examination my optician recommended that I should be referred to Dr Agarwal as my eye pressures had risen and I was showing symptoms of rapidly developing cataracts. I saw Dr Agarwal who confirmed that I required cataract surgery on both eyes and he also prescribed medication to bring the eye pressures down. Dr Agarwal operated on my left eye first and two weeks later operated on the right eye. Both operations were successful and my sight has improved dramatically. I found Dr Agarwal thoroughly professional and kind. He took time to explain the surgery and also the various benefits and risks associated with the surgeries. His surgical team and the nurses and staff at the hospital were also friendly and thoroughly professional.

Absolutely amazing. Dr Agarwal explained everything very clearly in a lovely manner. I felt very reassured to go ahead with the procedure. The difference afterwards was incredible.

From my first contact with Dr Agarwal he put me at ease and explained what he was going to do and what my options were. Everything was explained very clearly and no pressure was applied.

It came as a shock about a month or so ago to learn that I had dense cataract in both eyes, very high eye pressure and suspected glaucoma. I admire and respect the work done by the Eye Pavillion in Edinburgh but even when i was put on the "Urgent List" it would be 3 months before I could even meet with a suitable Consultant. I was not even sure as and when the procedures could be done. So I decided to go private with Spire at Shawfair Park Hospital. I sought out the best Consulant for the procedures and that led me to meet with Dr Agarwal. I had a consultation with Dr Agarwal at the end of July, he said he could do the left eye on 7 August and the right eye on 14 th August! Very impressive service! The left eye had improved significantly within a week, great relief! The right eye was more complicated due to detached retina surgery 2 years ago and I was warned it could longer to recover. Amazingly the right eye showed signs of improvement just yesterday, 23 August! So, a huge Thank You to Dr Agarwal who not only is a pleasure to meet but highly skilled and very highly recommended.

From first contact to the completion of my treatment (two cataracts) took only fifteen days. Dr Agarwal filled me with confidence. However, there was a lot of information to absorb very quickly meaning that decisions had to be made swiftly. This was partly a time-related issue and that was our choice. I do not regret any decision that I made as the outcome has been excellent. The staff involved in both operations were thorough and considerate. Communication was fine, although it was a little out of sequence. Dr Agarawal was very apologetic on this count. Overall experience was excellent - from start to finish. Dr Agarwal gives treatment professionally, and cares about his patient. My YAG capsulotomy; performed under local anaesthetic, was painless, and he explained what was happening throughout. You are in safe hands with him.
