About Dr Noel Pollock
Dr Noel Pollock is a highly qualified and experienced Consultant in Sport & Exercise Medicine. He graduated with Honours in Medicine from Queen’s University Belfast and completed an MSc with Distinction in Sport & Exercise Medicine at Bath University in 2006. He was one of the first cohort of 8 specialist SEM trainees in the UK.
Dr Pollock has an extensive background in sports medicine and has served as team doctor for the British Track and Field team for 15 years between 2006 and 2021, attending numerous Olympic, Paralympic, World, and European championships. He also served as Chief Medical Officer for the British Athletics medical team between 2016 and 2021 and as UKA Chief Medical Advisor with a governance and oversight remit between 2021 and 2023.
Dr Pollock has published work in various areas of sports medicine, including muscle injury classification and rehabilitation, female athlete health, elite athlete health management, bone stress injury, and Achilles tendinopathy. He is also a former endurance runner and has won national titles and international honors for Northern Ireland in cross country, 5k, and 1500m.
Currently, Dr Pollock works as a Consultant in Sport & Exercise Medicine at the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health (ISEH), on Tottenham Court Road, and Chiswick Medical Centre, where he provides clinical services for all patients with musculoskeletal pain or injury. Outside of work, he enjoys cycling regularly and playing football at the weekend.

Thank you so much Noel for your expertise. I brought in my son who has been experiencing pain from a complicated and long-standing injury. We had received advice from a surgeon that it might require surgery. We met Noel who listened extremely carefully to all the history -I felt he really wanted to understand all aspects. He then spent considerable time investigating him clinically. Noel almost seems to be able to see into the injury -such is his command of palpation and joint movement! He gave us his opinion and then a rehabilitation regime which was detailed and specific. I am extremely grateful to him for his skill and excellent communication throughout this process.
I have seen Noel several times and he has always been excellent. To date he has sorted out my running related injuries.
