Dr Mohamed Mutalib

Dr Mohamed Mutalib is an accomplished Consultant Paediatrician and Consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist who provides compassionate and comprehensive medical care for infants, children, and young people. With a patient-centred approach, he evaluates and manages a wide spectrum of health concerns in young patients, focusing on delivering tailored treatment plans that support physical development, nutrition, and overall well-being. Dr Mutalib works collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure that every child receives optimal medical support in a reassuring environment.

In his clinical practice, Dr Mutalib focuses on paediatric digestive health, with particular expertise in gastrointestinal motility disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, and complex functional gut conditions. His clinical scope encompasses the diagnosis and management of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, achalasia, chronic constipation, coeliac disease, and severe feeding difficulties. He performs advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including paediatric gastrointestinal endoscopy, multichannel intraluminal pH impedance monitoring, and endolumenal functional lumen imaging probe (EndoFLIP) assessments to evaluate gut motility and guide targeted interventions.

Dr Mutalib holds a Medical Degree and is fully registered as a specialist on the General Medical Council register. He has undertaken extensive clinical training and academic research in paediatric gastroenterology, contributing regularly to medical literature and clinical guidelines. Professionally affiliated with the British Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (BSPGHAN), Dr Mutalib has held prominent leadership positions, including serving as Head of Service for Paediatric Gastroenterology and as Chair of the BSPGHAN Motility Working Group.
