Dr Banks is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Director of Endoscopy at University College London Hospital.

In addition to general gastroenterology and hepatology, his special interests include gastrointestinal cancers, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, Barrett's Oesophagus and Irritable Bowel Syndrome. With a PhD on the mechanisms of diarrhoea, he has particular expertise in the investigation and management of this condition.

He specialises in Colorectal cancer, screening, acid reflux and Barrett's oesophagus, irritable bowel syndrome, achalasia, gastric cancer, oesophageal cancer, Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) and Per-Oral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM).
