About

I am an experienced Consultant Dermatologist practising general dermatology, skin oncology and skin surgery. I pride myself in delivering high-quality patient-centred care and achieving high patient satisfaction levels. My key interests include the following areas: hair and scalp disorders, photodermatoses (light-induced skin problems) and phototherapy, skin cancer, photodynamic therapy, inflammatory skin disease including acne, eczema, psoriasis, allergy and use of botulinum toxin for axillary hyperhidrosis/aesthetics.

Having completed my undergraduate training with honours at the University of Nottingham, I returned to the West Midlands to complete my general medical training at University Hospitals Birmingham where I successfully obtained membership in the Royal College of Physicians, London, in 2003.

I have exclusively trained in Dermatology since 2003 and have regularly presented papers at local, regional and international meetings and have won several regional and national prizes for my efforts.

I am qualified as a teacher in medical education at the University of Wolverhampton and regularly deliver lectures for medical students, allied medical professionals, trainees and GPs. I have been an invited lecturer for local, regional and national educational events and training courses including: St Johns Photodermatology course (2009 and 2011), British Hair and Nail Society course (2012 and 2018), British Association of Dermatologists clinical update meeting (2015), West Midlands Practical Allergy Course (2015, 2016, 2017), British Association of Hair Restoration Surgeons annual conference (2020), Institute of Trichologists CPD seminar (2019) and PULSE live (2017, 2019, 2020). In 2016, I hosted a national course on daylight photodynamic therapy (PDT) at Solihull Hospital. I was awarded a fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons in 2016 (FRCP).

Being involved in research gives me a better understanding of dermatological diseases and new treatments. I have been a principal investigator for three national research studies in hair disease and photodynamic therapy between 2015-2020.

Patient testimonial

I received excellent care and treatment at Spire Little Aston Hospital. I had a treatment called 'Photodynamic Therapy' that was overseen by Dr Kaur and carried out by Nurse Tracy Ingle. Both ladies were extremely professional, friendly and made me feel relaxed whilst having this procedure.

I think it's also important to mention that I have seen Dr Kaur several times over the past few years. She has always been professorial, friendly and extremely knowledgeable.
