About Dr Malcolm Persey
Since becoming a consultant rheumatologist in 2001, Dr Malcolm Persey has been based at the Barnet and Chase Farm sites of the Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust. He practices privately in Enfield, Bushey/Elstree and Golders Green. He diagnoses and treats a wide range of rheumatology conditions and and has a number of special interests. He can arrange and interpret appropriate investigations such as X-rays, MRI Scans, Bone Density Scans, Nerve conduction studies and blood tests. He regularly undertakes procedures such as carpal tunnel, other soft tissue and joint injections
Dr Malcolm Persey has extensive experience and particular interest in general rheumatology, osteoporosis, gout, arthritis/rheumatic diseases in pregnancy, and vasculitis. Other areas in which Dr Persey has a special interest are non-surgical treatments of a variety of rheumatological problems such as carpal tunnel syndrome, neck and shoulder pain, tennis elbow and osteoarthritis of the hand and lower limb.

Qualifications
Dr Malcolm Persey qualified from Oxford University and the Royal Free Hospitals. He then underwent training in general medicine and rheumatology, gaining experience at St Mary's, Central Middlesex, Northwick Park, The Hammersmith Hospitals and their Postgraduate Medical School and at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. Since 2000 Dr Malcolm Persey has been a consultant rheumatologist, based at the Barnet and Chase Farm sites of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.

Having previously carried out a highly effective injective solution providing long-term relief from a debilitating trigger thumb on my right thumb joint, Dr. Persey has now carried out the same procedure on my left thumb joint which had developed this condition. On each occasion I had total confidence in Dr. Persey's extensive specialist experience, his high level of professionalism and capability and his excellent patient care.
I was very pleased with my appointment. Dr Persey listened to my concerns, helped me understand my test results and gave me advice for my next treatment.
This was my first visit and had a very good experience. Dr Persey was very patient in listening to my concerns and provided with practical approach towards the symptoms. Overall very assuring experience.
I found Dr Persey to be very kind,, polite and professional. He asked me questions, investigated my issues and gave me a clear diagnosis and a treatment plan which I had been trying to get for months.
Dr Persey was excellent. He managed to see us at very short notice and gave a thorough analysis into my symptoms. He also backed up everything he said with clear, scientific explanations that made sense and were very reassuring. 10/10
