Dr Kare Tang is a Consultant Cardiologist. He trained in the UK and has been practicing since 2002 both in the NHS as well as a private sector. His current base is in Colchester, Essex, as well as in London. His places of specialist training include world-renowned institutions such as Papworth Hospital, Cambridge; Hammersmith Hospital, London and Prince of Wales Hospital, Hong Kong.

He is experienced in broad areas of cardiology with specific interests in cardiac prevention and rehabilitation, heart rhythm disturbances and pacing, valvular heart diseases, management of hypertension, lipid control, diagnosis and the treatment of heart failure as well as coronary heart disease.

His sub-specialty interest is interventional cardiology, where he is highly experienced in the treatment of coronary artery disease via a percutaneous method, angioplasty and stenting with percutaneous coronary intervention.

Dr Tang has vast experience in the management of acutely-ill patients who find themselves in coronary and intensive care units. He is also totally proficient in central venous cannulation, Swan-Ganz monitoring, emergency temporary pacing, pericardiocentesis, DC cardioversion, as well as management of complications of coronary surgery and angioplasty.

In addition to this, his other medical interests lie in the treatment of coronary artery disease and he remains a principal investigator for several major trials, which are currently on-going.

On a more personal level, Dr Tang is a snowboarding enthusiast and a lover of travelling fast cars! However most importantly, his self-professed and most cherished possession outside of his clinical work is his family.
