In 1990 Dr O'Donohue then moved to London and trained in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at King's College Hospital Liver Unit, St. Bartholomew's/Homerton London, and Western Infirmary, Glasgow.
Dr O'Donohue maintains a comprehensive gastroenterology practice dealing with a comprehensive range of diseases of the upper and lower digestive tract. Performing high-quality and comfortable endoscopy is a particular interest of his. He has also interests in service development in endoscopy, and has helped to set up national accreditation schemes in endoscopy and bowel cancer screening services in the UK and London. Dr O'Donohue's hard work and research has not gone without recognition; he was awarded national-level Clinical Excellence Award by the Department of Health.

I highly recommend Dr O'Donohue. He is a very good listener and takes the time to explain everything in detail. He is approachable, friendly and very knowledgeable. He kindly addressed all my queries and treated me efficiently, explaining the results very clearly.

Dr O'Donohue has a very friendly and calm manner. I had several appointments and 2 gastroscopies when under his care - he made me feel very at ease and was reassuring, especially before the gastroscopies. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend others choose Dr O'Donohue for care.

I felt very reassured after my first appointment with Dr O'Donohue and his explanations along the way were helpful and easy to understand. He put me at ease straight away and I felt I was in the very best hands. I am sure that if I hadn't made the appointment with him my underlying condition would not have been diagnosed for ages, impacting my life and work. Dr O'Donohue was extremely thorough and after some blood tests and scans I discovered the issue was something completely different to that I had suspected. He gave me all results and explained them in detail plus even did a sketch to help me understand. He was skilful and sensitive with the examinations. I would not hesitate to recommend him as I immediately felt he took my condition very seriously - something I have not always found to be the case. The best health decision I have made1
