Dr John Ioannou

Dr John Ioannou is a well regarded expert in his field of adolescent rheumatology whilst also practicing general adult rheumatology. He focuses on the management and treatment of teenagers and young adults with arthritis and lupus and also looks after adults across a wide range of rheumatic problems..

He is a consultant at University College London Hospital treating adolescent and adult patients and also honorary consultant at Great Ormond Street Hospital where he set up a lupus, myositis and arthritis transition clinic in 2012.
Dr John Ioannou is also an expert researcher. He is a Reader within UCL and Principal Investigator of the UK's first national research centre dedicated to adolescents and young adults with rhematic disease. He was awarded the British Society of Rheumatology Michael Mason Gold Medal in 2011, which is regarded as one of the UK's most prestigious prizes for early career academic clinicians in Rheumatology.
