About Dr Howard McAlpine
Dr Howard McAlpine is a Consultant Physician & Cardiologist who qualified in 1979 from Glasgow and has been a consultant cardiologist since 1992. His NHS practice was in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow and at the New Victoria Hospital from 1992-2021. He now only consults privately at Ross Hall Hospital, Glasgow where he also has admitting rights. He is a non-invasive cardiologist dealing with a wide range of general cardiological conditions and specialises in cardiac ultrasound.

Dr McAlpine is a very experienced General Cardiologist who has particular expertise in imaging (echocardiography etc). He has a relaxed and friendly bedside manner and his patients appreciate this. Dr McAlpine has a broad range of expertise within Cardiology including chest pain, cardiomyopathy and heart failure management. Dr McAlpine is a colleague who I ask for advice frequently and who performs echocardiography/Trans-oesophageal Echo on my patients extremely efficiently. An excellent all round physician and Cardiologist.
