About Dr Gary Wright
Dr Gary A Wright is a leading Consultant Cardiologist and heart rhythm specialist in Glasgow, Scotland. He provides private cardiology care at Ross Hall Hospital and also works in the NHS at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital, Glasgow Royal Infirmary, and Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
He specialises in diagnosing and treating heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias), including atrial fibrillation (AF), palpitations, supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), atrial flutter, ventricular tachycardia (VT), ectopic beats, and blackouts/syncope. Patients often see him for private atrial fibrillation treatment, catheter ablation procedures, and management of palpitations or unexplained dizziness.
Dr Wright trained in Scotland, England, and Canada, including advanced heart rhythm training with world experts. He set up the cardiac ablation service at Ross Hall Hospital, where he is the senior electrophysiology consultant. He performs the full range of ablations using the latest techniques, including CryoBalloon, 3D CARTO mapping, and is introducing the latest Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) technology.
Independent audits over the last 10 years show that Dr Wright has among the lowest complication rates in electrophysiology, giving patients confidence in safe, effective, and personalised care.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys travelling, reading, and cooking.

Can't thank doctors and nurses enough , they are all magnificent . I am truly indebted to them. Only thing I could suggest from my experience in ICU , is that when a wound opens , the nurses use a code reference, to get assistance. Happened to the gentleman in the next bed. I was nearly asking for my coat!

Excellent experience all round. Dr Gary Wright was personable and efficient throughout. He allayed any fears or concerns I had and gave me details of the procedure both before and after. Super professional and reassuring.
From my very first consultation through to an operation and follow up appointment Dr Wright was excellent, kept me informed of everything that would happen and what to expect. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr Wright and Ross Hall Hospital at all .
Mr Wright was very polite and courteous. His explanations on the way forward for me were clear and concise and I had no trouble understanding what lay ahead
I had my procedure carried out as planned and felt in good care during and after the procedure.
I was seen on time by Dr Wright . I found him to be very reassuring and approachable. He explained my situation in appropriate language and took care to ensure that I understood everything. He took time to answer all my questions and I felt much more confident as a result .
