About Dr Hari Jayaram
Dr Hari Jayaram is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon and Clinician-Scientist based at Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, where he is the Director of the Glaucoma Service, with an honorary academic appointment as an Associate Professor at the Institute of Ophthalmology, University College London. He has a specialist interest in glaucoma, with expertise in the medical, laser and surgical management of adult glaucoma including minimally invasive glaucoma procedures, including complex and secondary glaucomas, as well as cataract surgery, especially in patients with glaucoma.
Dr Jayaram served as Vice-Chair of the City Road & Hampstead Research Ethics Committee (Institutional Review Board) from 2007-2014 and obtained a Masters Degree with Distinction in Clinical Trials from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in 2017, being awarded the University of London Centenary Award. He current serves as Chair of the Research Management Committee and and Director of the Glaucoma Service at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.
Dr Jayaram is an Editorial Board Member for several scientific journals (Translational Vision Science and Technology, Current Eye Research, Frontiers in Medicine). He was a vice-chair of the program planning committee for the World Glaucoma Congress hosted by the World Glaucoma Association and is co-organiser of the annual Moorfields International Glaucoma Symposium.

The visit was very satisfactory. I was able to book a consultation within a few days of my first enquiry, which was itself responded to promptly. In the the brief time before we met, I was able to correspond with my consultant. During the consultation , my concerns were addressed and reassurance given. I do not anticipate the need to return for a further consultation in the near future, but should I need to do so, I would be confident of the care I would receive.

He listened to all my concerns with genuine patience and empathy, which made me feel completely reassured and at ease. I couldn’t have asked for a better doctor or higher quality care. Dr Jayaram is warm and professional. He took time to explain everything in as much detail as I needed. I am very happy with the care he and his team provided at the consultation, surgical and post-operation appointments. I have found Dr Jayaram very reassuring. His practice manager, Maddie, is a real asset - I have so appreciated her communication and responsiveness.
A very good check up and reassurance that both the cataracts are healing well. Also, Dr Jayaram was very happy to answer all my questions patiently in full.
