Dr Guido Bua is an accomplished consultant neurologist with expertise in cognitive disorders and dementia care. He has extensive experience diagnosing and managing a range of neurological conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, vascular dementia, mild cognitive impairment, and neuropsychiatric disorders.
Dr Bua graduated in medicine from the University of Sassari, Italy, in 1994, where he also specialised in neurology by 2002. He further enhanced his skills with diplomas in clinical hypnosis and neurorehabilitation from La Sapienza University in Rome and the Institut Guttmann in Barcelona. He has served in leading roles, including as Consultant Neurologist at Policlinico Sassarese Hospital in Italy, focusing on dementia and neurorehabilitation.
Currently, Dr Bua is a Consultant Neurologist with the Hammersmith and Fulham Memory Service, a specialist NHS clinic supporting individuals with cognitive difficulties and dementia. He has also worked at the Royal Hospital for Neurodisability in London and collaborated on international research projects in neurorehabilitation and movement disorders.
Dr Bua is an active educator, having held teaching roles at the University of Sassari. His passion for advancing patient care is reflected in his research publications and involvement in professional organisations like the Royal College of Physicians and the British Neuropsychiatry Association.
