Dr George Abouda

I am a Consultant Gastroenterologist and have a special interest in liver disease including fatty liver disease and alcohol related liver diseases. I treat patients with viral hepatitis and autoimmune liver disease.

I have been a gastroenterology consultant for 11 years and am an expert in the field of liver disease, especially fatty and alcohol liver disease. I participated in developing regional national guidelines in the field of fatty liver disease. I also have an interest in managing patients with functional bowel disorders.

I perform high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy and colonoscopy procedures and see patients with inflammatory and irritable bowel disorders as well as dyspepsia. To date I have performed over 5,000 gastroscopy and over 2,000 colonoscopy cases.

I am an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Hull University and a Senior Lecturer and block tutor at Hull York Medical School (HYMS).

I am a core faculty trainer at the Yorkshire School of Endoscopy (EYSE).
