I look after general gastroenterology including patients with upper and lower GI problems such as diarrhoea (including patients with raised calprotectin and FIT tests), dyspepsia, iron deficiency anaemia, abdominal pain, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and rectal bleeding. I have a strong interest in Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and microscopic colitis. I perform endoscopic procedures such as gastroscopy, sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy.

Qualifications
I I studied in Dundee before undertaking clinical training and research in Glasgow and Oxford. I look after general gastroenterology including patients with upper and lower GI problems such as diarrhoea (including raised calprotectin and FIT tests), dyspepsia, iron deficiency anaemia, abdominal pain, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and rectal bleeding. I perform endoscopic procedures such as gastroscopy, sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy.
I have a strong subspecialist interest in the diagnosis and management Inflammatory Bowel Disease (which includes Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and microscopic colitis). I have been clinical lead for IBD services at Southampton General Hospital since 2009. I am a clinical lead for the UK IBD Registry, have contributed to the UK IBD Standards and am a member of the UK IBD program. I also lead a broad IBD researh program at Southampton Genreral.
