About Dr Douglas Thorburn
Dr Douglas Thorburn is a Consultant Hepatologist and clinical director for liver transplantation, hepatology, hepatobiliary and pancreatic service, endoscopy and gastroenterology at the Royal Free Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He trained in Glasgow and Canada and in 2003 was appointed a Consultant Hepatologist in the liver transplant unit in Birmingham.
Dr Thorburn sees patients with all aspects of hepatobiliary conditions. He has particular interest in liver transplantation, autoimmune liver disease and biliary endoscopy (endoscopic ultrasound and ERCP).
Dr Thorburn is actively involved in research and has published extensively in his field of expertise.
