It was absolutely fine and everything was explained clearly to me.
Great manner, welcoming, diagnosis and treatment route explained clearly. Left consultation feeling reassured and confident.
Mrs. Mathews asked me to explain my reasons for consulting her. I explained that I had been diagnosed with glaucoma in 1999. I produced copies of correspondence I had received from the various Consultants who had been treating me since that time. These included my most recent check with the Stanley Eye Unit at Abergele Hospital. I outlined the particular situation regarding the early morning weeping of my left eye and may concern about the cataracts in each eye. The particular concern relating to the need next year to be able to satisfy the DVLA about my fitness to continue driving. After which Mrs. Mathews undertook various checks to satisfy herself of the facts and current condition of my eyes. She then explained that my eyesight would still meet DVLA requirements. However, in the longer term that could not be guaranteed. She said that she could deal with the cataracts and provide. treatment to reduce the pressures in my eyes, thereby obviating the need to use daily drops in my eyes. It was my choice as to the way forward. I chose to have the necessary operations on both eyes.
I am seeing Mrs Matthew’s on a regular basis for glaucoma. I have had both surgical and medical intervention. I find Mrs Matthew’s thorough, informative, caring and professional. I would not hesitate to recommend her.
As stated in my earlier answer I was impressed with her thoroughness and clear plan for future treatment.
Mrs Mathews was very good indeed. Had confidence in her.
The practice was clean and quiet and the tests were done efficiently and calmly. Results were shared and were explained in an excellent manner. All my questions were answered with great patience, and I did not feel hurried at all.
I have seen Mrs Mathews previously and that is why I sought treatment at the clinic. Mrs Mathews was very professional. I arrived early and as Mrs Mathews was available she kindly brought my consultation and treatment forward. Thank you very much.
Mrs Mathews warm and personable approach alongside her professionalism expertise and talent makes such a difference to my confidence and anxiety as a patient.
I had concerns about how my my left eye was responding to vision and how it felt. It was explained to me by Mrs Mathews that a previous condition had reoccurred and how it was going to be dealt with going forward in a very reassuring way with simple to understand terms.
Fantastic clinician always on top of her game and very approachable individual
