Dr Dinesh Damodaran

Dr Dinesh Damodaran underwent junior doctor training in the North West of England, where he obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians. He completed the specialist Neurology training at Greater Manchester Neuroscience Centre (GMNC), developing special interests in movement disorders including Parkinson's disease, atypical Parkinsonian disorders and dystonia's. He is a Consultant Neurologist at Walton Centre from 2014 till date. He is part of team delivering movement disorder service. He has a weekly movement disorder clinic at the Walton Centre with a focus on Parkinson's disease, atypical Parkinsonism, tremors, ataxia and dystonia. He is involved in advanced treatment for these patients including Deep Brain stimulation, botulinum toxin and apomorphine injections. He has general neurology clinic at Walton Centre and Whiston hospitals where he manages patients with general neurological conditions including Peripheral nerve disease, Muscle disease, Multiple sclerosis, Memory disorders ,Movement disorders ,Headaches ,Epilepsy ,Neuro-genetics ,Neuro-immunology ,Neuromuscular disorders ,Neuro-ophthalmology ,Sleep disorders . He is involved in a number of clinical trials in Parkinson's disease at The Walton Centre. As an Honorary clinical lecturer of the Liverpool University he is actively involved in teaching undergraduate medical students. Being the Royal College Tutor, he oversees the training of postgraduate doctors at The Walton Centre NHS Foundation . As the Postgraduate educational lead he oversees the training of the internal medical trainees at health education northwest .
