Dr Fletcher has 30 years experience in Dermatology and has worked as a Consultant Dermatologist since 2003.
She has been interested in Dermatology since her medical school days and was awarded the Dermatology prize in her final undergraduate year. Her burgeoning interest was furthered by spending her elective in Australia combining adult and paediatric Dermatology in Adelaide, along with the Flying Obstetric and Gynaecology service in Queensland.
Prior to starting clinical training posts in Dermatology at the prestigious St. John's Institute of Dermatology, Guy's Hospital and Lewisham Hospital, she undertook clinical research into the features of fungal toenail infections, based at Guy's Hospital. Dr Fletcher intensified her study in this area during her final year of Dermatology specialist training by spending a month-long sabbatical with a renowned Dermatologist in Paris.
Dr Fletcher was appointed Consultant Dermatologist at Kingston Hospital in 2003 and was instrumental in setting up the multidisciplinary skin cancer service. Her work within Dermatology was recognised by election to become a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2007. In the same year, her outstanding work was recognised within Kingston Hospital with a Level 2 Clinical Excellence Award.
Dr Fletcher receives excellent feedback; anonymised data collected for revalidation in 2020 showed that 100% of her patients were happy to see her again. Additionally, she receives high-quality feedback from colleagues.
Dr Fletcher retired from the NHS, after 28 years of service, in 2018.
Dr Fletcher is passionate about providing the best care possible for patients. She gives generous appointment slots and likes to work in partnership with her patients. She has close links with her Plastic Surgeon colleagues. She sees adults and adolescents over 12 years of age. Please note that Dr Fletcher does not remove cysts or lipomas.
Dr Fletcher uses a GDPR compliant, secure Practice Manager software system which allows for the storage of clinical images. She is highly proficient in dermoscopy and utilises serial stored dermatoscopic images for mole monitoring, which is the gold standard of care.
She is supported by an excellent Practice Manager, Dodo Cassidy, who is always ready to take phone or email enquiries, within office hours.
Dr Fletcher lives in Surrey and values the opportunity to look after the dermatological needs of her local community. When not working, she enjoys landscape and nature photography, attempting to create (and keep alive) Bonsai trees and trying to master the art of cloud pruning.
Dr Fletcher is registered with all the major Insurance Companies. She holds BUPA Platinum Consultant status, she is an AXA PPP Fee Approved Specialist and a Vitality Core Consultant.

Dr. Fletcher is truly the best dermatologist. She understands her patients perfectly and knows exactly what they need, which makes recovery so much faster. I’ve always trusted her with my skin and always will. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.
Dr Fletcher is the best doctor among private care doctors in my experience. Deeply empathic, caring, outstanding professional.
Dr Fletcher is wonderful. She is very caring and explains things really well.
My recent appointment was a great success. Dr Fletcher listens very closely and takes the time to explain any treatment or procedure thoroughly. I recommend her to everybody I meet who is looking for a Dermatologist.
Dr Fletcher answered all my questions and I never felt rushed. She explained the procedures as we were going along. If I wasn’t sure of the outcome after using cream/oitment, it was explained in detail. I was very pleased
Dr Fletcher is a gem. She has a warm engaging style. She listens and engages with her patients. Her calm, confident and reassuring approach was so helpful especially as our daughter was very anxious and saw her after a rather negative experience elsewhere. We are so grateful a friend recommended Dr Fletcher.
Dr Claire Fletcher is one of the kindest and most knowledgeable colleagues I have every had.
