Mr Andrew Chung

Mr Chung is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with a specialist interest in cornea and oculoplastic surgery and sutureless cataract surgery. He has considerable expertise, having performed in excess of 13,000 ophthalmic operations, including over 5,000 small-incision sutureless cataract/lens surgery and 4,000 eyelid surgeries.

Mr Chung graduated from the Medical School in the University of Leeds in 1996 after completing both the basic and advanced surgical training in ophthalmology in the Yorkshire region. He undertook a specialised fellowship programme at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital & Leeds General Infirmary.

He has contributed many papers to national and international academic meetings, some of which have then been published in prestigious peer-reviewed journals. He is also the winner of the Best Academic Paper Presentation Prize at the North of England Ophthalmological Society Annual Meeting and the Yorkshire Regional Brian Harcourt Best Poster Presentation Prize in 2006.
