About Dr Adam Harris
Dr Adam Harris is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Physician with a special interest in dyspepsia, gastro-oesophageal reflux, irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel diseases. He qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1987 and gained the degree of Doctor of Medicine in 1995 following two years of full-time academic research within the field of gastroenterology.
Dr Harris worked for the NHS for over 30 years, working as a consultant in Tunbridge Wells from 1997 until 2017, and now practices exclusively privately in Sevenoaks, Orpington and in Marylebone, central London.
He was actively involved in the British Society of Gastroenterology and held the roles of Secretary and Chair within the Clinical Services & Standards Committee. In October 2007, he received a National Bronze Clinical Excellence Award, recognizing his "sustained and dedicated contribution to the NHS over and above any contractual requirement".
Dr Harris has been involved in multiple publications, both within his field and more generally. He co-authored the NICE guidelines for ulcerative colitis, as well as the BSG Handbook for Independent Practice. He has also been active in research on topics ranging from ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease to Helicobacter pylori and acid-related disease.

I arranged to see Doctor Adam Harris having been left by the NHS with findings that still concerned me and I sought to gain a diagnosis. Doctor Adams made me feel at ease. He was very friendly and listened to my concerns. He diagnosed a condition and explained clearly in ways that I could understand and he has given me a pathway now to follow which is such a relief reducing my anxiety which had been high. Thankyou for what you have done for me.
It was a pleasure to have my appointment with Dr Harris. He was pleasant, courteous and payed full attention to the symptoms I needed attention to, giving me great confidence in his clear analysis of my condition and it's subsequent treatment. I was grateful for his time.
