Mr Dincer Aktuerk

Following from a cardiac angiogram test in June 2025 which was carried out by Dr Oliver Gottman (HCA) cardiologist I was recommended to see Mr Dincer Akturk at Mayo clinic. As Advised by Mr Akturk I was booked to have my operation (double coronary bypass grafting with endoscopic vein harvesting) at the Wellington North Hospital on the 14th July 2025. Now about just over 3 months post-surgery I am feeling very well and getting back to the active lifestyle and has been discharged by Mr Akturk. This is far exceeded all our expectations considering the seriousness of this kind of procedure. Every step in the journey from initial consultation to the operation and post-surgery care has been excellent. He is Extremely professional and thoughtful surgeon who delivers great care to his patients and families to make them feel as relaxed and confident as is possible in such circumstances. I have no hesitation in referring my family and friends to him as I know they will be well looked after by him and his team. Mr Akturk thank you for all you have done for me. We are inspired by level of your dedication, precision and professionalism.

My experience with Mr Akteurk was a positive one. He was calm and professional, and most importantly performed my surgery effectively.

Mr Aktuerk was wonderful. He explained the procedure, the risks and was very clear when answering my queries. Very reassuring manner which was appreciated not just by me but family members. Thorughly recommended especially for a triple by-pas.

In August 2025 I had minimally invasive mitral valve repair with Dincer and although it was a daunting surgery I felt I was with a world class surgeon who I could trust with this major heart operation. Dincer visited me multiple times in hospital and I have seen him by video and in person post surgery. My surgery was a great success and each time we met I felt deeper confidence in my health and future. He is an incredible heart surgeon and was very caring towards my wife and kids especially in those first days in hospital. My operation was a little complex and I am forever grateful that he and his team gave me a second chance at life. I cannot recommend Dincer enough. Someone you can really trust at the top of his profession with great patient empathy.

From our first meeting Dr Aktuerk put me and my family at ease, he was reassuring, confident and honest. My procedure and recovery went exactly as planned.

Heart surgery is a traumatic and worrying thing to experience. and for me it came out of the blue and things moved very quickly. Dr Aktuerk proved to be a calming influence during this time, and not only put my mind at rest, but gave me a confidence in the procedure and his skills that led to as relaxed a preparation as could have been possible. and a recovery that has been well monitored.

I found Mr Aktuerk's manner extremely reassuring especially as the outcome of my tests/scans etc, were a shock to me, hence requiring the surgery. He was extremely professional, was detailed in his explanation of not only the results but also before and after my operation, and it was very much appreciated to see him (and his anaesthetist) before and after my operation whilst in hospital. I would highly recommend Mr Aktuerk and his team for any procedures that they are experienced in.

I had heart bypass surgery November 2024, Dincer Aktuerk was very professional & explained every part of the surgery, he made me feel relaxed & confident of the outcome.
