Dr Davina Hensman

Dr Davina Hensman is a Consultant Neurologist and Clinician Scientist who provides expert care for patients experiencing a wide range of neurological conditions. Her clinical practice focuses on diagnosing and managing complex disorders affecting the brain, spinal cord, and nervous system. Through a patient-centred approach, Dr Hensman ensures that individuals receive thorough diagnostic evaluations and tailored management strategies to support their long-term neurological health.

Her main area of clinical interest lies in neurodegenerative disorders and inherited conditions of the nervous system, with a particular focus on Huntington's disease and polyglutamine repeat disorders. Dr Hensman is actively engaged in clinical research investigating genetic factors that influence disease onset and progression. This dual role as a practising clinician and researcher enables her to integrate advanced scientific knowledge into day-to-day patient care.

Dr Hensman earned a degree in Biology from the University of Oxford before completing her Medical Degree at St George's University of London, qualifying in 2007. She subsequently attained a Doctorate (PhD) in Neurogenetics from University College London in 2019, researching genetic modifiers of neurological diseases. Her qualifications include Membership of the Royal College of Physicians, awarded in 2010, and a Certificate of Completion of Training in Neurology. She maintains active professional memberships with the Royal College of Physicians and the European Huntington's Disease Network.
