Dr David Melling

Dr David Melling is an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in major trauma management and elective joint surgery. Dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centred clinical care, Dr Melling provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and tailored treatment strategies for individuals presenting with complex musculoskeletal conditions. His clinical approach focuses on restoring patient mobility, alleviating joint pain, and achieving optimal surgical outcomes through advanced operative techniques and evidence-based medical practice.

With extensive expertise in both elective procedures and trauma care, Dr Melling specialises in primary hip replacement, primary total knee replacement, and innovative robotic-assisted knee arthroplasty. His clinical focus also encompasses major trauma care, pelvic and acetabular reconstruction, and complex chest wall injuries, including the surgical stabilization of rib fractures. Through the implementation of modern surgical technologies and precise operative protocols, he strives to improve joint function, accelerate patient recovery times, and enhance overall quality of life.

Dr Melling completed his undergraduate medical degree at the University of Liverpool, qualifying in 2001. He subsequently completed higher surgical training within the Mersey region and went on to complete specialist clinical fellowships in Buckinghamshire and Stanmore. In addition to serving as a Clinical Director and Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, he is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Trauma and Orthopaedics. Dr Melling also maintains active professional memberships with the British Orthopaedic Association and the British Hip Society.
