Dr David Crossland

Dr David Crossland is an accomplished Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist and Adult Congenital Cardiologist who provides comprehensive cardiovascular care for patients with congenital heart conditions. Working across paediatric and adult services, Dr Crossland focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care for individuals with structural heart conditions from infancy through adulthood. His clinical work encompasses advanced diagnostic assessments, long-term condition management, and complex cardiac procedures designed to improve long-term cardiovascular outcomes and overall quality of life.

Dr Crossland earned his medical degree, receiving a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB), prior to undertaking postgraduate training in paediatric medicine and cardiology. He obtained Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) and completed higher specialist training in congenital cardiology. To further advance his expertise in structural heart interventions, he completed an international fellowship at a renowned tertiary paediatric centre. Dr Crossland maintains active involvement in medical research and clinical education, serving as an Associate Clinical Lecturer and contributing to international cardiovascular literature.

Within his clinical practice, Dr Crossland specialises in interventional congenital cardiology, performing minimally invasive catheterisation procedures to repair structural heart defects. He holds significant expertise in managing advanced heart failure, evaluating candidates for heart transplantation, and managing patients requiring mechanical circulatory support. His work includes specialised care for complex single ventricle physiology, including Fontan circulation management, as well as neonatal haemodynamic evaluations. Dr Crossland collaborates closely with wider multidisciplinary care teams to ensure coordinated, compassionate patient care.
