Mr David Baker

David is a highly experienced occupational therapist specialising in the treatment of hand and upper limb injuries. With over 20 years in clinical practice, he is recognised as an expert in this field.

He graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 2003 and later earned a Master’s degree in Research in Clinical Practice from St George’s University of London in 2013. David has built a broad and varied career in hand therapy, initially working within the NHS before transitioning into the private sector, where he helped establish hand therapy services for a major private healthcare provider. He now works independently, offering hand and upper limb therapy across London and the UK.

David has a particular interest in treating work-related upper limb disorders (RSI), including ergonomics and workstation assessments. He also has extensive experience managing trauma cases, including injuries to ligaments, tendons, nerves, and bones. Over the years, he has treated a wide range of sports injuries and has had the opportunity to work with professional athletes, including footballers, cricketers, boxers, musicians, and actors.

In 2012, David volunteered his expertise in hand therapy on a mission to Sierra Leone, where he worked with a team to treat local people and train local workers. This initiative was sponsored by ReSurge Africa and The British Society for Surgery of the Hand.

Additionally, David is an associate of a medico-legal consultancy, where he serves as an Expert Witness, preparing reports for the courts.
