Mr Roberts is a consultant hand and upper limb surgeon at the Spire Hospital, Havant and the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth since 2015. He was the first Wessex surgeon to undertake the renowned British Society for Surgery of the Hand fellowship and to be awarded the British Hand Diploma.
He has researched several topics including major upper limb amputations and has presented his work internationally to the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States in Washington DC. Currently he specialises in thumb base replacements and has taught both nationally and internationally how to perform this increasingly popular treatment for managing thumb base oesteoarthritis.
In his spare time he sets thematic cryptic crosswords for national newspapers and won the Ascot Gold Cup for The Times Listener crossword setter of the year in 2015 and 2021.
