Dr Daniel Hawcutt

Dr Daniel Hawcutt is an experienced Consultant Paediatrician and Paediatric Clinical Pharmacologist who is dedicated to improving health outcomes for children and young people. He provides comprehensive care through rapid access general paediatric clinics alongside specialist clinical pharmacology services designed to optimise medication safety and effectiveness for younger patients. Dr Hawcutt is committed to delivering individualised, empathetic care that addresses the unique physical and developmental needs of every child while supporting their families throughout treatment.

Dr Hawcutt completed his medical training with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery with Honours (MB ChB Hons), as well as a Bachelor of Science with Honours (BSc Hons). He later pursued advanced academic research to obtain his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. Dr Hawcutt is a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH). In addition, he holds active leadership roles in national professional organisations, including joint committees for the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, the Neonatal and Paediatric Pharmacists Group, and expert advisory groups specialising in pharmacovigilance and paediatric medicines.

Within his clinical practice, Dr Hawcutt focuses on general paediatrics, drug optimisation, and deprescribing in paediatric patients. He has a particular interest in evaluating the safety and efficacy of prescribed treatments, including corticosteroid therapies and treatments for childhood respiratory conditions such as severe asthma and bronchiolitis. By combining high-level clinical research with day-to-day patient care, he aims to minimise medication risks and ensure children receive the most suitable therapeutic interventions available.
