Dr Colin Morgan

Dr Colin Morgan is a dedicated Consultant Neonatologist and Paediatrician who provides expert care for newborn infants and young children. Specialising in neonatal medicine, he focuses on supporting premature infants and critically ill babies during their most delicate early stages of life. Dr Morgan is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based medical care to improve outcomes for young patients and support families throughout their care journey.

Dr Morgan earned his medical qualification from the University of Nottingham in 1989 before pursuing specialised postgraduate training in paediatric medicine and neonatal care. Throughout his career, he has held prestigious academic roles, including Senior Lecturer in Neonatal Medicine and Honorary Clinical Professor. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he has led regional postgraduate medical education as Head of School of Paediatrics. His professional affiliations include involvement with national clinical reference groups and guideline committees for the British Association of Perinatal Medicine.

Dr Morgan possesses extensive clinical expertise in neonatal nutrition and metabolic adaptation. His work encompasses the management of early parenteral nutrition, physiological monitoring, and glucose control in vulnerable infants. He has a particular clinical interest in studying long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acid absorption and optimising macronutrient intake to support early brain growth, bone mineralisation, and immune function in preterm babies.
