Mr Colin Butler

Mr. Colin Butler is a highly experienced consultant ear, nose, and throat (ENT) paediatric surgeon practising at renowned London hospitals, including Great Ormond Street Hospital and The Portland Hospital. With over 15 years of experience, Mr. Butler is proficient in numerous aspects of otolaryngological surgery, specialising in procedures such as tonsillectomy, addressing hearing loss, treating ear infections, glue ear, and obstructive symptoms form tonsils and adenoids. He peforms specialist surgery on the thyroid and parathyroid, and undertakes complex airway and tracheal reconstruction.

Mr. Butler earned his medical degree from the Univeristy College London in 2004, following his Bachelor of Science in Anatomy awarded in 2001. He underwent specialist surgical training at several leading London teaching hospitals. During his training, he also earned a PhD for his research into airway stem cell biology, focusing on regenerative methods for the airway. He completed his training with a Royal College of Surgeons fellowship in  Thyroid, Parathyroid, Head and Neck surgery and a Paediatric ENT fellowship at Great Ormond Street.

Beyond his clinical practice, Mr. Butler is very involved in research and has authored over one hundred publications. He is currently participating in a groundbreaking investigation at the Institute of Child Health, exploring novel gene therapy approaches and mucosal sheet technology for the airway.
