Dr Clinton Ali

Dr Clinton Ali is a highly regarded Consultant Medical Oncologist who is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centred care. Focusing on thoracic and upper gastrointestinal malignancies, he works collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver tailored treatment plans. Dr Ali is widely recognised for his reassuring and approachable manner, ensuring that patients and their families are fully informed, supported, and respected throughout their treatment journey.

Dr Ali graduated from the University of the West Indies, Faculty of Medical Sciences. He went on to obtain his Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2001 and is a Collegiate Member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. Committed to medical education, he also completed a Postgraduate Certificate of Medical Education at the University of Dundee in 2008. He completed his specialist training in Medical Oncology in Dundee before being appointed as a Consultant Medical Oncologist.

In his clinical practice, Dr Ali specialises in the treatment of thoracic cancers, such as lung cancer and pleural mesothelioma, as well as upper gastrointestinal cancers, including pancreatic, liver, biliary tract, and oesophago-gastric tumours. He is actively involved in clinical research and serves as a Principal Investigator for thoracic oncology clinical trials with the National Cancer Research Institute and the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer lung group. His involvement in these global trials allows him to bring innovative therapies and cutting-edge treatment options to his patients.

Dr Ali's philosophy of care extends beyond the individual patient to encompass their families and wider support networks. He is passionate about developing and implementing treatments that not only extend life but also significantly improve the quality of life for those under his care. By working closely with General Practitioners, Surgeons, and other healthcare professionals, he ensures a seamless and holistic approach to cancer treatment.
