Dr Claire Edmondson

Dr Claire Edmondson is a Consultant Paediatrician and Paediatric Respiratory Physician who specialises in caring for children and young people with a broad range of respiratory conditions. Dedicated to delivering patient-centred and evidence-based care, Dr Edmondson collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to guide young patients and their families through comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, and long-term disease management. Her reassuring approach ensures that every child receives individualised medical care tailored to optimise their health and quality of life.

Dr Edmondson has established extensive clinical expertise across complex paediatric lung conditions. Her clinical interests encompass complex asthma, cystic fibrosis, chronic and acute lung disease, rare lung disorders, empyema, paediatric sleep medicine, and chronic respiratory failure. She is also skilled in long-term ventilation management, flexible bronchoscopy, and the integration of innovative digital health tools, including remote home monitoring solutions designed to improve outcomes for children with chronic respiratory diseases.

Dr Edmondson earned her primary medical degree from the University of Manchester before completing postgraduate paediatric training. She further advanced her academic and clinical expertise by completing a PhD in paediatric respiratory medicine, which focused on remote health monitoring technologies for young patients. She holds Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) and serves as an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer, contributing actively to clinical research, medical education, and the training of paediatric fellows.
