Mr Christopher Coapes

I am a consultant orthopaedic hand and wrist surgeon. I have been a consultant in the NHS since 2008. My current post is consultant orthopaedic surgeon at The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. I have worked there since 2010 and am currently clinical lead for hand surgery.

I undertook my higher surgical training in trauma and orthopaedics in the north east of England, the later years of this training concentrated on surgery of the hand and upper limb. Following this I undertook fellowship training in hand and wrist surgery at Leeds General Infirmary in 2007 to 2008. I am a member of the British Orthopaedic Association and have been a member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand since 2008.

I am take part in clinical research and am currently actively involved in trials concerning scaphoid fractures, finger injuries and Dupuytren's disease.
