Dr Christian Duncan

Dr Christian Duncan is an accomplished Consultant Plastic Surgeon who specialises in paediatric reconstructive and complex surgical care. His practice encompasses a wide spectrum of plastic surgery procedures, with a primary focus on addressing intricate facial and cranial conditions in children. Dedicated to providing patient-centred care, Dr Duncan works collaboratively with multidisciplinary clinical teams to reconstruct congenital variations, repair soft tissue trauma, and enhance both functional and aesthetic outcomes for young patients.

Dr Duncan earned his primary medical degree (MB BCh, BAO) alongside a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) from University College Dublin, qualifying as a doctor in 1991. He completed his initial surgical training in Dublin, attaining Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (FRCSI) in 1995. He subsequently undertook higher specialist training in Plastic Surgery across key surgical centres in Bristol, Sheffield, and the West Midlands, receiving his Specialist Fellowship in Plastic Surgery, FRCS(Plast), in 2003. Throughout his post-graduate training, he also pursued dedicated research fellowships in tissue engineering and advanced reconstructive techniques.

In his clinical work, Dr Duncan is particularly recognised for his expertise as a Craniofacial Surgeon, specialising in the management of conditions such as craniosynostosis. He has pioneered innovative techniques combining medical science and digital art, including the development of three-dimensional facial and cranial modelling systems to guide precision reconstructive procedures. In addition to complex skull and facial reconstruction, Dr Duncan provides specialist treatment for paediatric soft tissue trauma, dog bite injuries, and congenital physical anomalies, while actively contributing to ongoing clinical research in blood-sparing surgical techniques and biomaterials.
