Mr Ben Klass

Mr Ben Klass is a Consultant in Hand and Plastic Surgery who has been practising in Liverpool and the North West for the past eight years. He completed his plastic surgery training at major units in London and the South East, including Barts and The Royal London Hospital, The Royal Free Hospital, The Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead, and the internationally renowned St Andrew’s Centre for Plastic Surgery in Chelmsford. He subsequently moved to the North West following completion of a highly competitive Hand Surgery Fellowship in Manchester.

Within the NHS, Mr Klass works as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside orthopaedic hand surgeons, specialist therapists and nurses, regularly managing complex and challenging cases. Alongside his hand surgery expertise, he has developed extensive experience in breast and body aesthetic surgery over the past 20 years, with a strong focus on achieving natural, balanced results and high levels of patient satisfaction.

Mr Klass has a particular interest in nerve decompression procedures of the hand, including carpal tunnel decompression, Guyon’s canal release and cubital tunnel decompression. He performs trigger finger release, ganglion excision and a full spectrum of Dupuytren’s surgery, including percutaneous needle fasciotomy, segmental fasciectomy, selective fasciectomy and dermofasciectomy with skin grafting or local flap reconstruction. He also treats osteoarthritis of the hand with procedures such as trapeziectomy with ligament reconstruction and tendon interposition (LRTI), small joint fusion of DIP and PIP joints, and joint replacement of PIP and MCP joints. His practice also includes the management of rheumatoid and inflammatory arthritis of the hand, as well as benign skin lesions, soft tissue tumours and nail bed disorders.

In plastic and aesthetic surgery, he performs scar revision and removal of benign skin lesions, breast augmentation, breast reduction, implant removal and implant exchange procedures. He also undertakes abdominoplasty procedures, including mini, full and fleur-de-lys techniques with or without muscle repair, as well as liposuction.

Over the course of his 20-year surgical career across both NHS and private practice, Mr Klass has performed approximately 10,000 procedures. This includes more than 1,000 carpal tunnel and Dupuytren’s operations and hundreds of aesthetic procedures such as breast augmentation, breast reduction and abdominoplasty.
