About Miss Chrissie Laban
Miss Chrissie Laban is a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon with a BSc, MRCS, MD, and FRCS. She graduated from St Bartholomew’s Medical School in 1996 and was awarded an MD for research into breast cancer cell growth, which led to multiple national and international presentations and publications.
She completed her surgical training in Wessex and subsequently undertook a year as a senior registrar in oncoplastic breast surgery in Edinburgh. She has worked as a locum Breast Consultant Surgeon in Nottingham and Bournemouth, specialising in oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgery.
Miss Laban collaborates with local plastic surgeons to perform mastectomy and DIEP breast reconstruction. Her clinical interests include breast surgery for benign and malignant disease, oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgery, mastectomy, DIEP breast reconstruction, breast reduction, and breast uplift (mastopexy).
She is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons, the Medical Defence Union, and the Association of Breast Surgeons.

My experience of my visits to the RUH The staff are extremely nice and make you feel at ease as soon as you arrive. They explain everything step by step. I would say this is the best hospital I have ever been to. The staff are really professional and reassuring as to what is happening first and the next steps that follow. They are extremely quick in a diagnosis and the treatment that you will be given.
So grateful to have experts who are also kind and thoughtful people, who treat you like a human being at a worrying time. Took my needs and preference into account. I didn’t feel rushed and was able to ask questions. Cannot fault the visit I had today, thank you.
