Very reassuring for the whole family. Happily accommodated all my needs. Very professional
Prior to this appointment and while attending a routine appointment for a cyst removal on (insert date), I was advised that I required an ultrasound sound due to identified concerns regarding my breast. The findings concluded that I required several biopsies due to the possibility of having breast cancer. The plan at this time was for me to receive the results of the biopsy on the 10th August and if this was not deemed cancerous, I would then undergo a cyst removal at this given appointment. On the 10th August, I attended my appointment as arranged and was very pleased and relieved to learn that the changes identified were not cancerous. However, on querying the planned cyst removal, I was met with an approach which made me feel inadequate. Miss Laban stated “you should be happy you don’t have cancer” and proceeded to state that the cyst removal was not required. This then progressed to her stating “well I can put a needle in it but it will hurt” before being ushered back into the waiting room while she spoke with colleagues. After some time, Miss Laban then approached me in a waiting room full of fellow patients and loudly stated that she has no time to remove the cyst today. She then began asking me confidential questions in front of other patients in a loud and abrupt manner leading me to feel that I was required to answer them despite feeling incredibly uncomfortable. I was therefore asked to return home and await further direction regarding a cyst removal requiring further unpaid time from work and heightened levels of stress and anxiety. Dr Laban is very professional and caring. Her ability to put you at ease and explain your treatment pathway is reassuring and patient centred.
I am so very grateful for the exemplary care given to me by Miss Laban. She instantly makes you feel at ease, is extremely thorough and her professionalism couldn’t be better. Thank you
Chrissie actually does listen to and respects her patients. She gives clear explanations and takes time to clarify not only that I have understood but that she has understood too.
Dr Laban saw me about the discomfort under my right breast which has undergone breast cancer treatment. She was friendly, examined me physically and provided clear justification of the reasons for my pain. She agreed to refer me for an ultrasound to provide peace of mind that this is a muscular issue not a breast tissue issue. I grateful for her support and advice. Kat M.
Christie was just the tonic I needed. She was friendly, positive funny and read us well so knew how to approach the meeting. Cancer is not a nice thing but she made me feel comfortable and happy. She was easy to talk to and I felt I could ask her anything.
It was a follow up appmnt to explain why no further surgery was needed. Chrissie explained the reasoning behind the decision. We also discussed my recent chemo and upcoming radiotherapy. Chrissie answered all my questions in an informative and caring manner.
Caring and collaborative colleague
