Dr Charlotte Huddy

Dr Charlotte Huddy is a dedicated Consultant Neonatologist and Paediatrician who provides expert, compassionate care to newborns, infants, and young children. Specialising in neonatal medicine, she focuses on supporting premature babies and critically ill infants who require specialist medical attention during the earliest stages of life. Her clinical approach combines high-level clinical expertise with a reassuring, family-centred ethos to support parents through complex medical journeys.

Her areas of clinical expertise encompass neonatal intensive care, the management of preterm births, and the specialised care required for infants from twin or multiple pregnancies. Dr Huddy holds a special clinical interest in the long-term neurodevelopmental follow-up of high-risk infants, tracking their progress and growth through early childhood. Additionally, she actively contributes to national and regional initiatives aimed at understanding and reducing neonatal mortality through epidemiological research and clinical leadership.

Dr Huddy completed her initial medical degree (MBBS) alongside a Bachelor of Science (BSc) at a medical school in London. She subsequently undertook higher specialist training in neonatology in Oxford to receive her Completion of Specialist Training, alongside earning a Master of Science (MSc) in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Dr Huddy is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH), a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP), and a Member of the Neonatal Society.

Beyond her direct clinical practice, Dr Huddy is actively engaged in medical education, research, and healthcare governance. She has authored published scientific research on topics including preterm birth outcomes, twin pregnancy complications, and neonatal epidemiology. Dr Huddy also remains deeply committed to training, mentoring, and supervising junior doctors, helping to guide the next generation of paediatric professionals.
