About Dr Cedric Leclercq
Dr Cédric Leclercq is a Consultant Child and Adolescent
Psychiatrist and Adult Psychiatrist, co-founder of Child Connect Limited.
He has more than 25 years of experience in child and adolescent psychiatry, having worked across specialist clinical services in Belgium and the UK, including the NHS and
private healthcare sector.
Throughout his career, Dr Leclercq has developed particular expertise in neurodevelopmental conditions, including the assessment and
management of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism
Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
His experience includes the assessment of children and adolescents with complex developmental, emotional and behavioural presentations, as well as working closely with their families and wider professional networks.
Before moving to the UK, Dr Leclercq worked for many years as a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in Belgium.
He founded and managed the specialist outpatient Cognition and Development Unit at CHR La Citadelle in Liège and was also involved in the clinical supervision of
multidisciplinary teams working with children and families.
He subsequently worked within NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and specialist neurodevelopmental services in Surrey.
Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Leclercq has held academic teaching positions in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and has contributed to research and publications in areas including ADHD, child development and adolescent mental health.
His longstanding training in family therapy also informs a clinical approach that considers the child or young person within their wider family and developmental context.
At Child Connect, Dr Leclercq works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive, evidence-based assessments and personalised care. His approach aims not only to establish an accurate diagnosis, but also to develop a meaningful understanding of each child or young person's individual strengths, difficulties and needs, helping families identify appropriate support and next steps.

Seeing Dr LeClercq is always reassuring. He has been my psychiatrist for the past few years and I have no criticism. He has been very helpful and understanding, especially very early on during the diagnosis and treatment while i was a teenager. I really appreciated the support and treatment. And he was also excellent with my family. He spends time with the patient and the family, explaining everything very clearly. I would heartily recommend him as an expert in young persons' brains.
Dr LeClercq has been helping me to find a medicine that will work for my ADHD. It’s been a long process for me but Dr LeClercq is very good at answering all my questions about the medicine and how it works and also how my ADHD may be affecting me. He also listens to other more niche factors when I tell him it’s important to me such as my levels of happiness. Secondly he’s genuinely been very understanding when I turn up late which I try not to do but when it happens he is extremely accommodating which is appreciated.
Dr Leclercq was really helpful and thorough, it was a welcoming atmosphere and he was very knowlegable and good with communicating. No notes at all.
Dr. Cedric Leclercq is a great dr who truly cares about his patients. My boys have a great relationship with him and they feel very comfortable with Dr Leclercq.
We feel privileged to have access to the support of Child Connect. Dr Le Clercq has profoundly supported our children through their neurodiversity diagnoses and their ongoing care. He assesses the 'whole' child, taking account of not just metrics but the narrative and stories behind the data. Having had a difficult experience previously, it was a huge relief to find a team that so quickly supported us and got to the roots of the issues. We are enormously grateful to Dr Le Clercq, who has put our children's mental health first and foremost. It is an ongoing pleasure to continue to have his support and guidance.

Dr LeClercq has been incredibly helpful. He has been clear and concise when explaining complex processes and next steps.
I’d previously seen a psychiatrist who I felt wasn’t interested in getting to know me and my quirks, and only cared about a potential diagnosis and subsequent prescriptions. I think the best psychiatrists (like Dr LeClercq) will try their best to understand you as a whole person, not just as your issues, to come up with the most beneficial treatment whether it be medication, therapy, or so on.
