Dr Lucia Giombini is a Lecturer in Clinical Psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London, and a senior clinical psychologist with over 15 years of international experience. Her specialist clinical practice is dedicated to treating young people and adults experiencing a wide range of eating difficulties, from early-stage presentations to complex, severe eating disorders. Practicing across both inpatient and outpatient services in Italy and the UK, she values the therapeutic relationship as the cornerstone of each individual's unique recovery and self-development journey.
Dr Giombini completed her early clinical training and practice in Italy, where she worked alongside the Italian Ministry of Health on a major national research project investigating the predictive and psychopathological dimensions of eating disorders in youth. Moving to London, she expanded her clinical leadership, serving as the Lead Clinical Psychologist for a specialist inpatient youth eating disorder service at Elysium Healthcare.
Dr Giombini earned her PhD in Psychological Medicine from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN) at King’s College London. Her doctoral research focused on evaluating brief psychological interventions, such as Cognitive Remediation Therapy and Emotion Skills Training, designed to improve cognitive and emotional processing in young people suffering from anorexia nervosa. Her current research interests explore how social frameworks influence therapy, as well as environmental sensitivity in relation to eating disorders and broader mental health conditions.
Dr Giombini contributes to the training and supervision of future clinical psychologists on doctoral training programmes. She also sits on the editorial advisory board for the European Eating Disorders Review Journal and serves as a review editor for Frontiers in Psychology, publishing peer-reviewed research on the assessment and treatment of eating disorders.

£160I came with the goal of improving my quality of life and self-esteem, and I found the process helpful. Integrated therapy with coaching gave me practical tools, greater self-awareness, and helped me feel much more confident. I would definitely recommend it!
I sought support for anxiety and eating disorder symptoms and felt very comfortable talking to Dr Giombini from the beginning. Her approach felt very personalised and tailored to me, rather than following a standard formula. She was knowledgeable and helped me understand not only the symptoms I was experiencing, but also how they had developed in the context of my personal history, relationships and current life. I found this broader understanding very helpful and felt listened to and understood throughout our work together.
Lucia is professional, kind, and insightful. She is incredibly thoughtful in her care and creates a welcoming environment even online. I would highly recommend her to anyone.
