Dr Catherine Larkin

Dr Catherine Larkin is a highly dedicated Consultant Gastroenterologist who provides comprehensive and compassionate care for patients experiencing a wide range of digestive system conditions. Placing patient well-being at the centre of her practice, Dr Larkin focuses on thorough diagnostic evaluations, accurate disease management, and personalised treatment strategies to support long-term digestive health.

Her clinical areas of expertise cover both upper and lower gastrointestinal health, with special interests in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), gastric atrophy, bile acid malabsorption, and dyspepsia. As a Consultant Gastroenterologist, she performs both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). Dr Larkin is committed to delivering reassuring and clear guidance, ensuring patients feel informed and comfortable throughout their investigation and care plan.

Dr Larkin earned her medical degree from Queen's University Belfast and completed her specialist clinical training in Northern Ireland. She further enhanced her advanced procedure skills through a dedicated fellowship in ERCP in Amsterdam, and earned a postgraduate Doctor of Medicine (MD) research degree investigating gastric regulatory peptides, gastric atrophy, and hypergastrinaemia. A key contributor to her professional community, she serves on the board of the Irish Society of Gastroenterology.
