Dr Caroline Pao

Dr Caroline Pao is a dedicated Consultant Paediatrician specialising in paediatric respiratory medicine. With extensive expertise in managing complex lung and breathing conditions in infants, children, and young people, Dr Pao is committed to delivering exceptional, child-centred care. She works closely with young patients and their families to evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad range of acute and chronic respiratory disorders.

Dr Pao has a specialised clinical focus on cystic fibrosis, serving in clinical leadership roles within specialist paediatric lung services. Her clinical practice encompasses the management of severe and difficult-to-treat asthma, non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis, primary ciliary dyskinesia, recurrent chest infections, persistent cough, and wheezing disorders. She also possesses expertise in sleep-disordered breathing, environmental impacts on respiratory health, and the management of children requiring non-invasive ventilation.

Dr Pao completed her medical training and holds postgraduate qualifications, including Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) and Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP). She is fully registered with the General Medical Council and holds specialist registration in Paediatrics. Alongside her clinical duties, Dr Pao actively engages in clinical research and clinical trial governance aimed at advancing therapies for childhood respiratory illnesses.
