Dr Caroline Booth

Dr Caroline Booth is a highly regarded Consultant Paediatric Nephrologist and Head of Service who specialises in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of kidney disorders in children and adolescents. With a compassionate and thorough approach, she is dedicated to providing comprehensive care that supports both her young patients and their families. Her clinical practice focuses on delivering high-quality, reassuring care to children experiencing complex renal conditions.

Her areas of clinical expertise encompass a wide range of paediatric kidney conditions, with a particular focus on chronic kidney disease prior to renal replacement therapy, acute kidney injury, and sickle cell nephropathy. Dr Booth is also deeply involved in paediatric dialysis and palliative care for children with advanced renal conditions. In addition to her clinical duties, she is actively engaged in medical education, serving as a College Tutor for postgraduate trainees and a Trainee Adviser on the College Specialty Advisory Committee for nephrology.

Dr Booth completed her medical training in Australia, earning a Bachelor of Medical Science with Honours from the University of Newcastle in 1988, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine with Honours from the same institution in 1990. She went on to obtain a Diploma in Paediatrics from the University of New South Wales in 1993. Her postgraduate qualifications include becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2001 and being admitted to the Specialist Register in Paediatrics with the General Medical Council in the United Kingdom in 2002. She was also elected as a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 2002.
